Public Square is featuring light shows from 6 – 10 pm nightly.
With Thanksgiving in the rear view, the festive holiday season has officially begun. After a virtual tree-lighting ceremony this past weekend, Public Square will stay aglow with Winterfest this season and while the festival will undoubtedly look a little different this year due to the pandemic, there are still numerous festivities in store for the holidays. “With Cuyahoga County’s stay-at-home advisory now in place, Downtown Cleveland Alliance presents this year’s Winterfest as a month-long celebration of socially distant and virtual experiences,” the group writes on its website.
“Winterfest will continue throughout the season with a variety of virtual and interactive happenings in accordance with CDC guidelines and city and state mandates.”
Animated holiday sound and light shows will be held nightly at Public Square from 6 – 10 pm, in which residents are invited to join and admire the spectacle so long as social distancing is maintained. Each day, complimentary displays will be held three times per hour between 4 and 10 pm.
Other holiday highlights include:
Take A Hike festive holiday walking tours, virtual visits with Santa Clause, and festive series of crafting and decorating classes, dance parties, stories, holiday snack 101s, prize drawings and more for Fusion.Live’s Winterfest Wonderland Series.
Other activities include Santas of the World Scavenger Hunt to take place between now and December 31. The event will invite participants to engage in a scavenger hunt and walking tour in the Gateway and Warehouse Districts.
