This hidden sushi spot serves up authentic rolls with a speakeasy flair!
Tucked under Dante, a modern New American eatery in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood, is a hidden sushi spot that serves up some of the best rolls Cleveland has to offer. For adventurous eaters, Ginko is a must-visit for both its authentic sushi and its Japanese hotpot shabu shabu — it’s one of the only spots in the city to serve it. Managed by the Cleveland restauranteur Dante Boccuzzi, who also owns Dante and dreams up the dishes for both, Ginko strikes the perfect balance between adventurous and traditional.
You’ll find Ginko down a nondescript flight of stairs. Diners attest to both the speakeasy feel and the high quality fish. Menu highlights include the shabu shabu, omakase, and the daring signature rolls. Innovative nigiri like the tobiko nigiri with a quail egg yolk complete an adventurous menu.
The drink menu boasts a selection of sake and Japanese-tinged cocktails like the shiso martini and lychee prosecco. Happy hour runs Monday to Friday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm and features both food and drink deals.
Find it at 2247 Professor Ave B, Cleveland, OH 44113.
