Since its creation, ballet has worked hand-in-hand with classical musicians, treating the world with musical scores that are as brilliant as they are fantastic. ‘Swan Lake’ — Tchaikovsky’s incomparable ballet — is one of these masterpieces, and this summer, you’ll get the chance to experience its iconic theme songs through a breathtaking Candlelight ballet performance. A few other classics will make you swoon at the heart of Cleveland’s Maltz Performing Arts Center, from Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy to Debussy’s Clair de Lune.
Candlelight Ballet will take place at Maltz Performing Arts Center on September 24. Save your spot here!
The intimate performing arts center will welcome guests who, surrounded by candlelight, will marvel at Inlet Dance Theatre ballerinas as they twirl to the magnetic sounds of Listeso String Quartet. Executive and artistic director Bill Wade founded the theater in 2001, bringing a new outlook on classical dance. Over two decades, the dance theater has grown into an international phenomenon that reaches people throughout the globe — largely due to their commitment in using dance to further people.
On Saturday September 24, the Inlet Dance Theatre will perform alongside the Listeso String Quartet at the Maltz Performing Arts Center. The spectacle will reenact music and dance from your favorite classics, starting with Tchaikovsky’s incredible pieces. The concert is also a tribute to geniuses like Brahms (Hungarian Dance No. 5 in G Minor, WoO 1 No. 5), Giacchino (Married Life from Disney Pixar’s Up), and Borodin (String Quartet No. 1 in A Major: III. Scherzo: Prestissimo), who brought an unexpected spin to classical music as we know it.
We can’t think of a better way to spend an evening than with a magical night of classical music with accompanying dance performances unfolding before your eyes. Candlelight Ballet takes place twice on September 24, with performances at 6:30pm and 8:30pm.
Please Note: For the safety of performers and the audience, the candles are flameless.
